Job Description of the Junior Food technologist
- Sound knowledge of baking and cooking is a MUST.
- New product development of Plant based and non plant based but clean label food on a regular basis.While doing this they must ensure that the ingredients used for making the product are easily available and are cost effective. Ensure quality and safety of food products, finding substitutes for harmful ingredients
- Documentation and storage of recipes and data in the form of reports
- Conduct sensory evaluation for new products across consumers
- Refine product recipes based on sensory testing and consumer data collected
- Calculating shelf life and nutritional profile of the products that we shortlist so the technologist must know how to calculate these
- Sound knowledge of excel,google,powerpoint
- Research products, markets, and technology to improve existing brand/product offering
- Knowledge of product labeling as per FSSAI norms
- Cost calculation of new products
- Day to day vendor coordination for purchase of raw material/lab test/sending courier/Sending samples to respective people
- Coordinate with packaging and manufacturing vendors
- Travel to different cities for vendor meeting for new product development
